What is FemaSeed?
FemaSeed is the latest advancement in artificial insemination. This fertility treatment focuses on supplying sperm directly into the fallopian tube, (Fallopian Tube Delivery) which is the natural site of conception. FemaSeed was created with the intent of enhancing fertilization while remaining accessible, safe and cost-efficient.
How Does FemSeed Work?
FemaSeed is defined as a local and directional form of insemination. The procedure needs to line up with the first half of the menstrual cycle - medication may be supplied for those who experience menstrual cramps to lessen any discomfort.
Once scheduled, the patient will then undergo a series of brief and non-invasive steps:
- Step 1:
An ultrasound test is performed to help determine the emplacement of the egg, or dominant follicle.
- Step 2:
Once identified, the FemaSeed device is placed in the uterine cavity and directed towards the selected fallopian tube.
- Step 3:
The sperm is then administered through the FemaSeed device and into the fallopian tube where it can live up to 72 hours.
- Step 4:
The device is removed, leaving behind the seminal fluid in the fallopian tube, where conception happens.
How Can FemaSeed Benefit Me?
One benefit is FemaSeed’s affordability. Since the procedure is non-surgical and only takes a few minutes, the cost for this treatment can differ significantly from other treatments. It's a great option for those who wish to get pregnant through artificial insemination but shoulder financial concerns.
Because FemaSeed is a non-surgical procedure, it’s regarded as a safe insemination method. The procedure only takes a few minutes so it’s also time efficient for those with busy lives! All in all, this procedure is a great alternative to other assisted reproductive technologies, i.e. in vitro fertilization (IVF).
How Does FemaSeed Differ from Other Treatments?
This device provides an alternative approach to treatments like Historic IUI, (Uterine Cavity Delivery).
Rather than having the sperm exert its way to the correct fallopian tube, the sperm is easily placed into the fallopian tubes.
What Are the Success Rates with FemaSeed?
Reportedly, 1 in 4 women became successfully impregnated. However, for a more thorough examination of your medical history, we suggest consulting with a fertility specialist. A specialist, such as Dr. Saadat, would be able to help talk you through your fertility needs and navigate you through the different procedure(s).
